IARPA ADVANCED MACHINE LEARNING CHALLENGE

iarpa_jan2016-840

IARPA has awarded more than $28 million to Harvard’s John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS), Center for Brain Science (CBS), and Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology for research into advanced neuroscience and machine learning.

Professors David Cox, Jeff Lichtman, Hanspeter Pfister, Haim Sompolinsky and Ryan Adams look to push the state of the art in neuroscience and computing to develop a deeper understanding of how our brains learn and translate that into new frontiers in machine learning algorithms.

Research Computing's cloud and elastic computing initiatives will provide this and other projects with
on-demand flexibility to quickly grow and manage their compute and storage.
