Advanced Cluster Usage Workshop

The Data Science and Research Facilitation (DSRF) team will hold its first in-person workshop to equip users with advanced SLURM skills to optimize job management and performance in an HPC environment. This workshop includes many hands-on exercises. Lunch and coffee/tea will be provided.

Time: 12:00 - 4:00 pm (Lunch 12:00-12:30 pm)

Who can attend this workshop: Anyone with an FASRC cluster account (requirement to participate in hands-on exercises)

What you will learn:

  1. Advanced job submission

  2. Job resource requirements and efficiency

  3. Job, partition, and queue monitoring

  4. Job checkpointing

  5. Fairshare

  6. Recommended storage/data workflow

Prerequisites:

  1. FASRC cluster account

  2. Familiarity with command-line interface

  3. Have submitted batch jobs on the FASRC cluster
