FAS VPN (Separate from Odyssey VPN)
Remote access to your data and some services in the Sciences requires a VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection to access from outside Sciences networks and off campus.
If you wish to connect to your lab or personal lab data stores but are connected via wireless or have an address outside of those associated with the Sciences, you will need a VPN Connection to access them.
Data storage available via VPN:
RCFS1, RCFS2, RCFS3, RCFS4, RCFS5, RCFS6, RCFS7, HELIOS (direct lab storage systems)
The VPN is accessible via a web browser at https://vpn.fas.harvard.edu.
The USERNAME field in the form requires two parts: username and realm name. Your username should be your FAS username, and in this case the realm name is FAS.
PASSWORD: (supply your usual FAS password)
(Alternatively, you can login with your HUID for the USERNAME (don’t put the @FAS realm part) and PIN for the PASSWORD — these two ways of logging in are equivalent.)
If you an Odyssey user, meaning your account has been set up for the cluster (separate authorization AND sponsorship required) you may use the RC VPN which is managed by RC, works with RC account login with OpenAuth.
Please contact the RC Team at email@example.com for any questions, concerns or direct assistance.
